The wrong block shows, or blocks keep changing
The cause
Section titled “The cause”A Checkout Buddy app block shows one block at a time. When several blocks could show, it picks one at random, and it picks again whenever the checkout changes.
Every enabled block is a candidate unless the app block’s Fixed block ID says otherwise. So with two or more blocks and an empty Fixed block ID, customers see a random one.
The fix
Section titled “The fix”In the Checkout Editor, open each Checkout Buddy app block and enter the block’s ID in Fixed block ID. Then click Save.
- One block per app block: enter one ID.
- Several blocks in the same spot, all at once: use Multiple block IDs.
- One of several blocks depending on the situation: enter several IDs in Fixed block ID and give the blocks display rules that don’t overlap.

Other causes
Section titled “Other causes”- The same block shows in two places. Two app blocks have the same ID, or one of them has no Fixed block ID.
- A cross sell shows different products each time. Manually picked products are shown in a random order, and A/B tests pick a product set at random. To always show the same products, pick exactly as many as Products shown at once.
- A block switches after the customer enters their address. Its display rules depend on the address, so a different block now qualifies. Check the rules of every block listed in that app block’s Fixed block ID.
- A block shows on the thank you page when it shouldn’t. Set Fixed component ID on the thank you page app block.
