Address autofiller
The Address autofiller block fills in the shipping address for the customer when checkout loads. Use it when many orders ship to the same place, such as a company office, a school, or an event venue.
Available on the Free and Business plans. Needs Shopify Plus.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Under Shipping address fields, fill in any of: First name, Last name, Company, Address 1, Address 2, City, Zip, Country, Province/State, and Phone. All are optional. Only the fields you fill in are changed; the rest are left as the customer entered them.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- The address is filled in once, the first time the block shows for a customer. Customers can still edit it afterwards, and the block won’t overwrite their changes.
- Saving the block again makes it fill in the address again for customers who come back to checkout.
- The block doesn’t show anything on the page, but it must be placed in the Checkout Editor, in its own app block with a Fixed block ID.
Examples
Section titled “Examples”- Show only for customers of a certain B2B company (B2B customer exists plus a Fixed company metafield value rule) and fill in their office address.
- Pre-fill a venue address when the cart contains an event product (Cart products).
Things to know
Section titled “Things to know”- Use display rules so it only runs for the right customers. With Show for all orders, every customer’s address is pre-filled.
- Shopify decides whether apps can change the address in each checkout. If it doesn’t allow it, nothing is filled in.
